Stephen McColl was a feared Scottish gangster and gun for hire.

He became a police informant, and would not tolerate anyone talking about him.

The body of Michael Doran has never been found.

1st November 2003, Philip Noakes, aged-30, vanished  after being seen talking to McColl, close to his Salford home. Like Doran, he was a petty criminal who had fallen foul of McColl.
Noakes had worked with McCollt in the past but the two had fallen out just before Noakes went missing. Noakes was tortured and shot in the chest, for thisd murder McColl was with fellow criminal Daniel Henson.
His body was mutilated before being covered with earth in a wood close to the edge of the M62 motorway.
